And because i'm not included in the prize draw, i have just been having fun, scrapping up a storm for all the different stop. This is my Stop 1 layout..... I have an Ah Scrap bottlecap, a Rainbow Splendour star pop, a Charm's Creations Super Star, and a Lime Tree Creations crochet circle included on this one....

I have used "Good onya mate" for the Aussie Slang, an aussie flag bottle top from my Amazing Race kit, and two rows of scallops!
The photo is of my Dad being awarded citizen of the year on Australia Day this year!

Here is my entry using True Blue Aussie

Here's my stop one entry using a
1)martha stewart border punch,
2)'Aussie Rulz' as my slang, and
3)there are a couple of kookaburra stickers and some wattle and gum nut stickers for the image criteria.

wowzers ladies, awesome entries already here'e my take on stop#1. "Go the Whole HOG!"
1. Use Aussie slang on your layout - hence my title "Go the Whole hog!".
2. Include an Aussie Image (eg, flag, map) or an Aussie Animal - hence the Australian flat bottle top.
3. Use a border punch or scallops - to represent the large iconic structures -hence the scallops on the memorabilia 'cardboard coaster' and the doily edging.

How I met the criteria: 1. Aussie slag/phrase: Aussie Aussie Aussie OI OI OI!
2. Structure using border punches: Punches used on the left hand side of page to represent the Bell Tower in Perth
3. Aussie flag/animal: Bottlecap and Koala images and stamp

Here's my take on stop#1. "true blue TUCKER aussie lamb Barbecue"

1. Use Aussie slang on your layout - check.
true blue - patriotic
tucker - food
aussie - (pron. Ozzie) : Australian

2. Include an Aussie Image (eg, flag, map) or an Aussie Animal - check
colours of the flag, and I have also used the aussie flag bottle top from my Amazing Race kit

3. Use a border punch or scallops - to represent the large iconic structures - check
Scallops used, in many ways, felt frame under the dymo label, felt scallop, and timber scallop strip under main photo.

Howzat - a picture from Allan Border Oval in Mosman, Sydney.
1. Used a map of Mosman in Sydney where this oval is situated
2. Used te word Howzat, Aussie cricketing term
3. Included some scalloped borders.

Here is my entry for the 'Amazing Race' Stop #1

The criteria to be include on your layout for Australia are as follows:
1. Use Aussie slang on your layout - I used an Aussie phrase 'How much can a Koala Bear?'
2. Include an Aussie Image - I used an Aussie Flag pin
3. Use a border punch or scallops - to represent the large iconic structures - I used the Martha Stewart 'Daisy Fan' edge punch to represent the Opera House since we are in Sydney
4. An Aussie bottlecap - Homemade Koala bottle cap (unfortunately I do not have a kit!)


Yes! those are real gum leaves that I Modge Podged!!!
Whenever I'm in Sydney I always head for Taronga Park Zoo.
I was lucky enough to get a photo of some iconic Australian Wildlife.
Here is Nathan (Magpie), Jarred DS (Koala with baby on his back!)
and Ryan (Lorikeet)
That Koala is so CHEEKY poking out his tongue!!

I must say that I was a bit dissapointed on my arrival at the end of the first stop.
No Phil Keoghan or Grant Bowler to hug and kiss!!! lol

Here is my first layout for Stop#1 ...

Aussie slang - Mine is Dinky-Di True Blue

an Aussie Image - I have used a mini Australian flag in place of the bottle cap supplied in the kit which sold out before I joined in the trip.

and I've used a Fiskars border punch.


This layout is about Australia Day 2009 when I took my son down to the local waterfront for a few hours. One of the many things they had happening was a classic car rally of a selection of old Ford and Holden cars. My son thought it was pretty nifty. I had a bit of a chuckle to myself as all the cars (bar one) were various shades of blue - hence my title of Dinky-Di True Blue.

I've used red, white and blue Aussie colours and also added in white stars to represent the stars on our flag.

3. Border/scallop punch - two scallop bottom half page

Here's my layout for Stop 1.

I've used "Beyond the Black Stump" for Aussie slang.
Australian Animal = Australian Ravens in the windmill.
I've used scallops along two sides of the photo mat.

1. Use Aussie slang on your layout. My title is My True Blue

2. Include an Aussie Image have found a clip art heart shaped Australian flag and used a heart shaped glass cabochon over the top of this. Also tried to keep my page to a green and gold theme.

3. Use a border punch or scallops - to represent the large iconic structures. Have used dies to cut scallop shapes and texture pasted a scallopy looking sun.

Aussie Slang.... Aussies... Australians
Aussie Animal.... Kangaroo

Scallop/Border Punch: Scallop edged cardstock under photo, which to represent our coastline, outlined against the blue ribbon (and crimped it too, to honour all the old corregated iron roofs out there).

The criteria I have addressed..
1. I used the slang word ARVO
2. I have used a map and in the photo is a lizard
3. I have used a chippie scallop.

I also used aussie green and gold colours :-)

Criteria 1 - i have used dinky di in the title and also slang words on the journal tag to describe my daughter
Criteria 2 - badge with an aussie flag on it
Critieria 3 - scalloped edge pieces up the side of the photo

3. Use a border punch or scallops - to represent the large iconic structures (opera house, uluru, rugged coastlines) - Yes, I've used Die-Namices Scallops

Here is my layout for the 1st stop of the Amazing Race. Criteria has been met:-
1. Aussie slang - in the title A Happy Little Vegemite
2. Aussie Image - I've got the flag, kookaburra, gum leaves and even the vegemite logo off the bottle.
3. Scallops/punch - scallops at the side

Criteria
1. Aussie Slang on LO - G'day stamp with frog and "Sheila" in title.
2. Aussie Image - Holding up Australian Flag.
3. Border/scallop punch - layered to represent the sea, rocks, sand.
