August CM Chat...

Well it is nearly that time again!! The August CM will run from 5th-7th!! Hopefully i'm not in the hospital and can still participate!! lol!!

Anyway, as always please remember to read the CM terms and conditions as set out below before listing items for sale....

Scrapbooking Top 50 "Crafters Market"

If you are talented at making your own embellishments, cards, or anything else handmade, you are welcome to come along, set up a "stall" and sell your wares. For those who may not be able or inclined to sell handmade items, you are also welcome to sell any unused or second hand craft supplies you have on hand.

"Crafters Market" Terms & Conditions

1. Each person is to start a separate thread in the Crafters Market forum for each item they wish to sell. For example, if you were selling satin flowers and felt flowers, you would start 2 threads. (You wouldn't have to post a separate thread for each colour though.) Threads are to be named with the item being sold, eg, "Satin Flowers".

2. Items listed for for sale MUST include the following information - item description (including materials & size), colours / styles available (if applicable), item cost, postage cost and MUST be shown in a photograph.

3. For people wishing to sell unused / second hand craft supplies, you will also need to include brand details, accurate description of item condition, and approximation of retail value if possible.

4. Sales will take place between sellers and buyers via private message / email ONLY. No "public" selling is to take place. Buyers can ask questions or leave feedback in threads if appropriate.

5. Transactions between buyers and sellers are private agreements strictly between them. Scrapbooking Top 50 Aus takes no responsibility for missing items or other problems resulting from private sales, we are simply providing a place where buyers and sellers can meet.

6. Please note that this market is for private sales by individuals only, not for business purposes.

7. Please don't purposely setout to copy or undersell other sellers items. This market has been set up for hobbyists to show their talent and make some money from what they can do.

8. Persons posting items for sale agree to abide by these terms and conditions. Anyone found to be in violation of them, will have their items removed.


Also we will be running the market a little differently to previous months. Each seller will have their own 'sellers' folder, therefore you will need to add your name to the sellers sign up list in the other thread so your folder can be made for you.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

This looks like fun! Would love to join in but I'm a bit nervous! How will we know we aren't selling the same thing as someone else?? LOL

Chloe, I would say go for it, there have been items in the past that have been the same/similar, but we don't know what other people are selling, except for some of the regular 'stall holders" and some of their items have been similar to other sellers, which we wouldn't have known about. A lot of the items selling are based on products that have been seen else where, selling for a lot more than is offered by the sellers at the "Craft Market", and also it's a lot of fun

Chloe, we are always happy to have new sellers on board, and to answer your question about selling the same as others, i will put this out there to everybody thinking of selling...

Although it's highly likely some people WILL be selling the same sorts of items as others, we would hate to see someone DELIBERATELY attempt to copy the work or ideas of another seller, which is why that is part of the terms and conditions! We would like to keep things fair and friendly for everybody!

Working on some new goodies especially for this month's market

Chloe, i have found that being to a few of these now and knowing the regulars, that although they may be the same type of item, ( say for eg satin flowers) they are completely original to the owners who make them. Thats the talents of these ladies !!

OOhh love the cm!! always such great stuff. hmm was going to waste some money else where but will wait for the markets. even tho i am not good at making embellies and things i do like to help out friends whenever i can!

Well I'm a little behind schedule unfortunately and have had to store some of my ideas away for next time. I had a bit of an "incident" at work last night and gave myself and nice crack on the head and a slight concussion so didn't get anything done today like I was hoping to. Hopefully tomorrow is a productive day though!!

Oh bummer Lani! I am behind the 8 ball this month too! Trying to do too much at once, and had planned on spending tomorrow getting photos of everything i have ready to go, but now i have to go to town for a Drs appt, so hopefully i am prepared in time, otherwise my stuff will be up late!

I am plugging away as best I can with my stuff for the CM, but a few things I was expecting are STILL yet to arrive, so I will have a smaller range than I planned. (On the bright side though, I have a head start on my next sale! LOL)
