Hey guys, not sure when this is gonna happen, but SC is going Bi-Monthly!! Apparently this is to benefit us, so we have more time to complete the projects in the mag!! Hmm.. what do you think??

Hmmm so long as the price doesn't increase!!!

The mags are making a lot of changes lately - I wonder if something bigger is afoot....

BTW, how many of us actually DO do the projects in the mag anyway??? Where are they getting that kind of feedback from!?!?!?

sounds like financial trouble to me... Shocked
think I will definitely hold off on renewing my subscription!

I asked one of my local newsagents the other day why they didn't stock it, and the girl there checked the list of mags they order and guess what? SC was on the list but she told me it hadn't been delivered to them for a few months...Suspect

and I'm with you Treens, I never do any of the projects in the mags... ROFL

When i read my email, I thought the same as you Sue!!

And Treens, i wondered where the feedback was coming from too, cos i don't do any of the projects!! I have actually stopped buying them, unless i know one of you girls are in it, cos otherwise i flick thru it once, then add it to my pile of mags, never to be looked at again!!

if I can get a good enough deal I don't mind subscribing to mags, coz I do love getting them in the mailbox, plus I read through them a few times...but I don't do the projects! LOL

I hardn't ever buy SC. Usually when I'm on holidays and want something to read. generally get SM as that's what Woolies has.
Yeah sounds like financial trouble to me too. I never do any projects in the mags either.

Well, I'll think twice now about taking out another subscription. Shocked SM is my favourite too, but SC was always a close second. Smile

lately I have been preferring SC, coz I find the work in it is more varied than SM plus it is a bit "edgier" iykwim? but I do like getting the bouns mags with SM when I buy it from the shops.

Hmmmm interesting. I have a sub to SM and only buy SC these days when I know someone is in it. I like them both as they both have different things to offer, I really only get SM cause the deal they offered me was too good to be true.

I noticed that SC was really late coming out this month. I'm like Sue I actually prefer it to SM. My LO is supposed to be in the next edition but haven't heard from them for ages.

I heard it directly from the advertising manager at SC they are going bi-monthly because as a store owner I've booked advertising space on the SBT50 page ... the advertising cost hasn't changed and as far as I know the price of the mag wont change. But it did ring a little alarm bell that they are going bi-monthly. I think at the end of the day it comes down to economics for the mag - it's a fierce and competitive market in the mag world, whatever the genre, so to produce the same mag but half as often is going to reduce production costs.
I just hope it doesn't shoot itself in the foot and go under ...

I wonder of they're just not getting the advertising to support monthly - they will probaby get more bulk repeat advertising bi-monthly rather than monthly...

I do know what you mean, but I sometimes find it a bit 'hit & miss'...some months I absolutely love it & others I don't. I get SM on subscription because of the brilliant deal & only ever pick up SC @ the newsagents...hehe, but I never get there. It would certainly be sad if they went under.

I don't know if its just here on the darling downs but SC seems to come out whenever it pleases, not at the same date each month like other mags. It seems to run about a six week cycle here. I love both SC and SM but i miss the dvd in SC. Must admit thats what got me to buy it in the first place. I was considering a subscription for both but I might wait and see what Santa brings me at Christmas and what deals are on then for subscription. santa
