Help with Subbing!! Empty Help with Subbing!!

Ok ladies, now that we have at least two of our regular members, with items accepted for submission, i would like to know just what you include in your email when you send it. Do you just write a general 'here is my layout, i hope you will consider it' or do you go into detail about each layout - the thought behind the layout, etc - and do you give a list of materials for each layout in the email??

Once i have answers for these questions, i might actually start subbing stuff!! Smile

Post by Soupie Fri Mar 19, 2010 9:51 pm

Vick, I didnt give any specific details. My email was like this:

Good morning / afternoon,

Please find attached my layout / card, (insert name) for submission for (insert theme / gallery name).

If you have any queries, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,
(Name)

(address)
(phone no)
(email address)

If SC email back to say yes, they request a complete materials list from you with your return acceptance email.

HTH someone! Help with Subbing!! Icon_biggrin

PS - I would think with around 1,000 subs per week that they wouldn't want you to say too much, coz they wouldnt get time to read it all anyway.

Good luck Ant! Your work is fabulous, so I am sure it will just be a matter of time before the mags realise it. (Make sure you send them EVERYTHING, even if you don't like it or think it is good enough! Help with Subbing!! Icon_wink )

Chantal, any word on which issue your LO is going to be in yet??? (You must be getting impatient!) And whats happening with Scrapbook Apprentice? When do we get to start voting for you???

No word yet. I'm not even thinking about it anymore! lol! Plus with Scrapbook Apprentice, I'll be receiving a pack of goodies for my first "assignment" soon! My layout is getting photographed and they are sending it back with goodies! Razz It'll be a while I think before the voting starts. All the info and stuff will be sent with my parcel explaining the whole business. Don't worry, I'll be letting you all know how/when/where to vote for me - so I don't get fired! LMAO!

Plus, to add to what Sue just said Anthea, lots of people I talk to say that their best stuff doesn't seem to get picked up and they are suprised that alot of the stuff that does get picked up to get published isn't what they would call "their best" ifykwim? So just sub everything! ESPECIALLY your worst - 'cause you never know!!! LMAO!
