Hey girls I thought that you may like to do some ATC's. If your interested great. If you need some time to think about it thats fine too!! I will be chatting to Sue over the next day or 2 and then we will work out the best way to get this started!! But you can put your name down if you like: It works best with 4-9 people but we will go with any number!!

Re: ATC's.......are you interested???
ATC's or Artist Trading Cards are little cards that measure 2.5" by 3.5". They can be embellished how ever you like. Normally you do 1 a month but you make enough for everybody on the list (10 people and you = 11 cards) and one extra for youself. Normally you have a theme for the month as an example: Next month is breastcancer awareness month-so pink cards with the pink ribbon is one thing that could be done. Are you getting the idea? They are not hard to do.......mostly they are done all the same with some slight differences. I then date stamp the back with the makers name (mine on my cards), date made, theme, then number each card, so if I have 10 cards that I have made they would be numbered 1 of 10, 2 of 10 etc etc! Hope this helps you. Will give more details and photos later on!!

Re: ATC's.......are you interested???
Better teach us all first Kathie...I know nothing about them!
What do you do with them once you have them? Do you use them? Display them? (Sorry, I am very practical girl and need to know what I could do with them...)

Totally correct Mel!! We do keep them in a folder just like swap cards or the footy cards that we have our kids collect!! You can use them on cards or LO's but generally they are little works of art that you collect! They honestly don't take much time to do even if you have a large number to do!

Re: ATC's.......are you interested???
Can you get page protectors that specifically fit them in can you?
Re: ATC's.......are you interested???
Yes Sue and they fit into a folder that you can purchase or just an A4 folder I think will work.

Re: ATC's.......are you interested???
These are awesome fun guys and I must admit I was like..huh? to begin with but once you do a set and send them and someone elses comes like a little gorgeous suprize into your mail box....you're hooked!
You can get specific storage sheets from alot of online stores. I got mine from Darkroom Door for a bout $1 a sheet and then store them all in an A4 level arch file like marbig. You dont have to do that though you can frame them up and use them as art on your walls you can purchase a product made by 7 gypsies that is like a revolving carousel and display them on you coffe table or bookshelf. Some people use them as card toppers and some people collect them like baseball cards and trade them at swaps or retreats.
For me I love them because they are a brilliant way to practice with techniques or mediums you might feel daunted by on a 12x 12. Generally they dont have a photo so you can just take them where ever you want to artistically. They can be as layered or simple as you want, you can spend an hour or a week on a set and they are like little works of art that challenge you and ....fit in your pocket. Alot of people "don't get it" but I urge everyone to have a go maybe just once for the experience.

Re: ATC's.......are you interested???
Cool, I know a bunch of girls who are pretty devoted to their ATC's and are loosing their regular forum due to the attached shop closing down .They'll soon be looking for a new host... the new year here sounds great! Which reminds me...I have a set overdue! LOL ALWAYS LATE BUT ALWAYS GREAT! I am making that my motto! Be for warned I can be a little tardy LOL
Re: ATC's.......are you interested???
Bring all the girls along, we would be happy to have you all playing along over here!!
I have never done ATC's but i am more than happy to host a few to see what they really are!! If you have any suggestions on topics, lets get the sign ups started, and get the swap started at the start of Jan!! What do you think??
